Curious? What Does the Bible Say about Power?

18th May - 8th June 2026

Curious? What Does the Bible Say about Power?

Are you curious about the Bible?

As we see the Bible and Christian faith being used and abused on the world stage, come and encounter the text for yourself and consider what it might mean for you and for us collectively.

This series is an opportunity for all postgrads and postdocs, of any faith or none, to have an open and honest conversation exploring some of the key texts from the Bible on the theme of power.

Bring your questions or wonderings and read the Bible in conversation with other postgrads, a facilitating academic, and some clear resources to help us understand how believers across the ages have understood the Bible and the person of Jesus - from St Augustine to C. S. Lewis.

Hosted by the Oxford Pastorate and the Graduate Christian Forum, join us over three Monday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm at Pusey House, with dessert included:

  • Monday May 18 (Week 4)
  • Monday June 1 (Week 6)
  • Monday June 15 (Week 8)

Sign up here to let us know you're coming - you are most welcome to join even if you can't make it to all three evenings.

Feel free to get in touch with us directly if you have any questions. You can contact Rev Dr Bethan Willis, Oxford Pastorate Chaplain, at [email protected]
