Friends of the Oxford Pastorate
The Oxford Pastorate’s work relies upon the generous support of men and women who partner with us in serving the students of Oxford University. We are immensely grateful for this long history of faithful support – from the nineteenth-century philanthropists who had the vision to create and endow the original trust, through the many generations of alumni of our programmes who faithfully pray and donate, onto current students who volunteer their time and give to our work.
If you would like to support the chaplaincy and outreach to the postgraduate and research community that is the heart of our ministry, we would like to invite you to become a Friend of the Oxford Pastorate. By giving a one-off or recurring gift of any size (existing donors give from £2.50 a month!) you will automatically become a Friend and receive invitations to Oxford Pastorate conferences and events usually only open to current postgraduates and faculty at the University of Oxford. This summer (July-August 2021) we also offer new Friends a complementary book written by a supporter or partner of our work.
To give to our work please follow these two steps:
1. Click on the green button below to set up either a one-off or recurring gift (you will be taken to our CAF Donate page).
2. To claim your complementary book, complete this form and select from our list.

b) would prefer to give by standing order - we can send you a Standing Order Form and a Gift Aid Form by email or in the post.

Peter Sloman
— Read BioDr Peter Sloman, Senior Lecturer in British Politics, University of Cambridge. "I was part of the Oxford Pastorate's 'Associates' group. I found it really helpful to spend time in prayer and discussion with postgrads and post-docs from other disciplines, and to learn from older Christians about their lives and careers. I'd certainly encourage students to get involved in the Pastorate's programmes; it's a great opportunity to connect with Christians from different backgrounds, and to think about what vocation looks like in the university and the church."

— Read BioJieun Baek, DPhil in Public Policy "As a member of Christians in Academia, I grappled with very challenging concepts, discussions, and readings that explored integrating vocation and my Christian faith. By delving into these topics in an intellectually diverse environment among fellow Christian academics, I came out of the program feeling more empowered and inspired by my faith to be a good steward of my resources, opportunities, and access to institutions to make positive changes in this world."
