International Student Welcome Week 2016

Arriving in Oxford to begin postgraduate studies can be a daunting time. The International Student Welcome team aims to make it a bit easier through hosting a series of welcome events:

  • A FREE Welcome Dinner on Friday 30th September hosted at St Aldates' Church. The meal begins at 7pm, but with 300 students attending it tends to be very busy so do arrive early to guarantee your place! Each table is hosted by a current postgraduate student and there will be opportunity to get some top tips from current and past students on making the most of all that Oxford has to offer.
  • An Academic Cream Tea on Saturday 1st October @ 4 pm hosted at St Aldates' Church. This begins at 4pm and includes an English cream tea (scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream) and the opportunity to hear from Professor Andrew Briggs on 'Making the most of your time at Oxford'. Each table is hosted by an Oxford academic and is grouped by discipline. Tickets are £2 and can be bought here.
  • A Spouse Cream Tea on Sunday 9th October @ 3 pm hosted at St Michael at the North Gate. This event includes an English cream tea. It's aimed at international students who have come to Oxford with a partner or children. Current postgraduate couples and families will host this FREE event.
